6-year-old child is seriously injured and is intubated after jumping from a moving car in Acre

A child aged approximately 6 years old suffered a serious accident this Saturday afternoon (11), after, according to his father’s report, jumping from a moving car in Ramal 3, located in the rural area of the municipality. The incident occurred around noon.

According to information provided by the rescue team, the child could not resist the impact of the fall, falling unconscious at the scene. When rescuers from the Mobile Emergency Care Service (SAMU) arrived, the victim showed signs of serious injuries, including otorrhagia (bleeding from the ear), indicative of possible head trauma, and epistaxis (nosebleed).

The SAMU team performed emergency care and took the victim to the Emergency Room in Cruzeiro do Sul/Photo: Reproduction

All physical examinations and initial neurological tests were performed on site. During care, the medical team observed a progressive decrease in the child’s level of consciousness, which required immediate intubation to preserve his vital functions.

The victim was taken intubated to the Cruzeiro do Sul Emergency Room, with oxygen saturation at 100%, where he will be evaluated by a neurology team for more in-depth examinations and definition of the clinical picture.

The circumstances of the accident are still being investigated.
