Charles do Bronx won in his best style and drove fans crazy at the Farmasi Arena, in Rio de Janeiro, on Saturday night (11), at UFC Fight Night. With a rear naked choke in the second round, the Brazilian defeated the Polish Mateusz Gamrot.
O (up to 70.3 kg). The Brazilian is currently number 4 in the rankings and still dreams of regaining the belt he once held.
The fight was balanced in the first round and the Pole took the Brazilian to the ground. Charles had already warned that this would be Gamrot’s strategy, but he knew how to hold back the momentum.
In the next round, the two tried striking, but consequently the fight went to the ground. In his natural habitat, he dominated his rival and secured the rear naked choke that was decisive for his brilliant victory.
The crowd that filled the Farmasi Arena celebrated wildly with the victory of the former category champion. Charles’ brilliant night.
Deiveson Figueiredo wins
Another who also won was Deiveson Figueiredo. By split decision, the Brazilian defeated the American Montel Jackson, in the bantamweight category (up to 61.2 kg), and was thrilled with the victory. At the end of the fight, the man from Pará dedicated the victory to all his fans.
Bad card for Brazil
Apart from the two main fights, the Brazilians who starred in the main card didn’t have a great day. Australian Kaan Ofli was the first to win. He submitted Ricardo Ramos in the first round.
Then it was Jhonatha Diniz’s turn to be defeated by technical knockout by the Portuguese Mário Pinto. Next, Vicente Luque, in a unanimous decision to Spanish Joel Álvarez.
