An exchange of ballot papers was detected at one of the tables in the voting section of the Parish of Vila Real during the local elections. The situation was communicated to the National Elections Commission (CNE) through a complaint and affected three polling stations, having been corrected in a timely manner in two of them, before the polls opened.

Complaint filed after distribution of wrong bulletins
The Lusa agency contacted the CNE, which confirmed that it was lodged a complaint after wrongful distribution of newsletters was detected at the Vila Real parish assembly and the indication given by this committee was to immediately cease the delivery of these voting ballots.
He further said that the process will be evaluated and that it will be up to the candidates and the general counting assembly to take final decision on the matter, and votes may be annulled or challenged.
A source from the chamber highlighted that the procedure deliberated by the CNE was immediately adopted at the moment the irregularity was detected, at 8:10 am today.

The candidates for the presidency of the Vila Real Chamber are Alexandre Favaios (PS), Alina Vaz (PSD), Alberto Moura (He arrives), Carlos Quinteiro (CDU), Luís Ramalho (Book), Anabela Branco (BE) e Conceição Pinho (CDS).
