“President without a people”, “stubborn macron”: the foreign press remains uneasy with his return to Matinion. From Washington to Madrid, foreign media describes a France in a deep crisis, after Sebastian Lecorni’s unexpected reposition of the prime minister, just four days after his resignation.
But before accepting Lecorne to stay in Matinion, he allegedly set his terms on Friday night.
Lekorni said to a narrow face of his environment that he had to accept “from duty”, although he had assured Wednesday that his “mission” had been “completed”. However, in order to be able to accomplish his mission, his next government demanded that he get rid of all potential candidates for the presidency, “no exception” as Le Figaro typically writes.
There are two names mentioned by the report, which are not expected to be an exception to the rule: Bruno Retagio, president of Republicans (LR) and to date interior minister, who has caused the derailment of his first government last Sunday, as well as Zeral.
Sebastian Lekorny believes that this is necessary to achieve his ultimate goal: the budget. At present, it does not set any other horizons beyond him, this is a three -month mission.
Finally, he demanded that Emmanuel Macron accept to reopen all the issues that had been discussed with the opposition, including the extremely symbolic reform of the pension.
The reactions
The reactions to Lecorne’s reposition to the prime ministerial church were immediate. The opposition estimates that his second term “will not be better” than the first, which ended when Lecorne resigned after just 27 days.
Marin Lepen’s party and the disobedient France of Jean -Lyk Melanson will move towards a motion of censure.
The Socialists have denied the existence of any agreement with the new prime minister, clarifying that their party would expect the first examples of the new government’s writing about the major problems of society.
Ecologists described President Macron’s decision as “incredible”.
