Even at 37 years old and having already admitted that his time in football is coming to an end, Lionel Messi continues to give his all on the pitch, oozing talent. This Saturday, Inter Miami’s number 10 scored two goals and also provided an assist in a duel against Atlanta in the MLS.
However, the curiosity remains, if Messi is healthy and, in the midst of a FIFA Data, why is the player not with the Argentina team? THE Sporting News explains to follow.

Why is Messi not with the Argentina national team?
Argentina has two commitments in the current FIFA Data. Against Venezuela, which took place on October 10th, in Miami, and against Puerto Rico, this Tuesday (10/14), in Chicago.
Coach Lionel Scaloni called up Messi for both matches, however, against Venezuela, number 10 was not used due to the player’s own decision.
— We wanted to test Lautaro and Julián (Álvarez). We also had Flaco López on the bench, we thought it was a valid option. In the end, Flaco couldn’t enter, let’s see if he enters the next match — explained the coach.
As the games are in the United States, it is expected that Messi will be able to join the Argentine delegation for the duel against Puerto Rico.
In MLS, Messi has helped Inter Miami to be among the first placed in its conference. It currently occupies third place, with 62 points. The Argentine is the current top scorer in the American League, with 26 goals.
