The irregular trade in “slimming pens” in the Federal District (DF), revealed by the column, is not restricted to the cramped corridors of the Brasília Imported Fair (FIB), the largest popular sales center in the region.
The report found that the medicine, imported illegally and sold at prices that can exceed R$4,000 on the parallel market, is transported along the main roads in the federal capital.

The incidents recorded throughout the investigation reveal that, while trying to negotiate the substance, the sellers themselves advertise and organize the delivery of the medicine, highlighting that they take the pen anywhere in the DF and even in the surrounding area.
To make business easier, they even offer “free shipping” to the nearest regions. When the product is destined for distant regions, they charge symbolic fees which, according to them, serve to pay for gasoline.

Family business
At one of the stalls, selling the product works like a “family business”. The owner of the space is the husband and brother-in-law of the two women responsible for selling the medication. Delivery is the responsibility of the father of the two.
The man who delivers Mounjaro also uses the pen. While trying to sell the substance for the reporter, his wife, his daughter, assured that the business is “clean” and reliable, guaranteeing that the entire family uses it and would not sell the product if it did not work.
At another stand, the seller ensured that the product arrived in the correct packaging. “It comes in a styrofoam with the ‘ice cream’, but you have to keep it in the fridge, okay?”, taught the man.

Far beyond illegal sales in physical spaces, the substance is also offered on online platforms. It’s not difficult to negotiate the purchase of the pen on Instagram or messaging apps.
The report did the test. To buy Mounjaro, he contacted the owner of a thermogenic products store, which promises to lose 5 to 10 kg per month with capsules alone. On Instagram, the store, called “SlimFit Termogenic”, has more than seven thousand followers.
To check prices and receive more information, simply signal your interest in losing weight. Without further questions, the medicine catalog is sent instantly.
“Do you want a pen or a fractional dose?”, asks the attendant who, before being answered, already forwards the prices: “Fractional dose of 2.5 mg, R$ 350. Take one per week.”
Then, she also offers the Tirzepatide pen — the substance that makes up Mounjaro — and adds that “it’s the same thing as Mounjaro, which is just a commercial name”. This costs R$3,400.
Mounjaro itself is also offered: four doses of 15 mg are sold for R$4,200.
Even without the customer expressing doubts, the seller sends a summarized explanation about the function of Tirzepatide and even forwards a link to the Federal Government website, which provides clarifications about the medicine.
After closing the deal, delivery takes place. The weight-loss pens travel throughout the federal capital and are delivered to any address in the Federal District.
