There were no survivors in the explosion at the Accurate Energetic Systems military ammunition factory, in rural Tennessee, in the United States, this Friday, 10th. The information was confirmed by Humphreys County, Chris Davis, this Saturday, 11th, after searches in the region.
“At this point, we have not recovered any survivors,” the sheriff said in an interview, visibly emotional. “As we move forward, we realize it’s even more devastating than we initially thought.”
The explosion at Accurate Energetic Systems on Friday morning completely destroyed one of the buildings at the company’s complex, which sprawls across wooded hills in the Bucksnort area, about 60 miles (97 kilometers) southwest of the capital, Nashville. The explosion was heard and felt miles away. At least 18 people were missing.

“We need our communities to come together and understand that we lost a lot of people. This doesn’t just affect these families, it goes deeper…it could be people you grew up with,” Davis said, noting that one of the victims was a childhood friend of his.
The explosion triggered a series of smaller explosions and the cause is still under investigation. Accurate Energetic Systems employs dozens of local residents. Investigators are pulling employment records in an attempt to identify the victims.
“Prayers are needed… our hearts are broken for the families and loved ones who lost their lives,” said Wendall Stinson, CEO of the manufacturer, on Friday.
