Mayrhofen/Innsbruck – Tyrol’s FPÖ state party chairman Markus Abwerzger was re-elected on Saturday at the ordinary state party conference in the Europahaus in Mayrhofen in the Zillertal with 98.15 percent of 324 valid delegate votes. The 49-year-old has led the party since 2013. The party conference was already focused on the state elections in 2027. Abwerzger made it clear that he wanted to become state governor. Federal party leader Herbert Kickl used his speech primarily to settle accounts with the ÖVP.
