Washington – After the escalation in the trade dispute with the USA, China has defended its actions. The Ministry of Commerce announced on Sunday that the export controls for rare earths are legitimate. The measures are necessary because of the military applications of the metals and the “current turbulent global situation”. China does not want a trade war, but is not afraid of it either. In addition, it is not an export ban, as applications for civil purposes are approved.
