Voter turnout of 43.4% at 4 p.m.

More than 9.3 million voters can vote in these local authorities, according to census data made available by the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI).

Voter turnout in the local elections was around 43.4% at 4pm, according to data from the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), a figure slightly above that recorded in the last vote at the same time (42.34%).

In the last local elections, the provisional voter turnout circled around 42.34% at 4pm, a lower percentage than in 2017 when it was recorded 44.39% voter turnout.

In previous local councils, participation up to 4pm was 43.43% in 2013, 45.3% in 2009 and, exactly 20 years ago, it was 48%.

More than 9.3 million voters can vote in these local authorities, according to census data made available by the General Secretariat of the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI).

The polling stations for the elections opened at 08:00 on the mainland and in Madeira to choose the leaders of the municipalities and parishes for the next four years.

The polls will be open until 7pm. In the Azores, they open and close 60 minutes later than the mainland and Madeira tables, due to the time difference of minus one hour.
