We keep various things in our apartments and houses, but many items can be found in virtually every home. Some may attract, others may cause bad luck to stick to us. Whispers indicate which elements of the decor could make misfortune willing to settle in our home.
Whisperers are most often female healers, although sometimes they were men. In Poland, they could usually be found in the Podlasie region. Currently, there are also several people working in this field. They are supposed to have power, but it is not known where it comes from, their practices have their sources in Slavic culture and faith. Some of them are happy to share their superstitions. Agnieszka Gierczycka, operating on social media under the name “slowianska_szeptucha”, reminded us of an interesting superstition that our grandmothers and whisperers believed in. According to it, you should not keep one thing at home to avoid bad luck.

According to superstition, you should not keep an empty vase indoors. This beautiful decoration appears in many homes and may bring bad luck, but there is no need to throw it away. Just fill it out. What to do it with? Preferably flowers – they can be dried or fresh, depending on your preference and the availability of bouquets. A good option is dried lavender, which will last for a very long time and, according to folk superstitions, it can attract good fortune and provide peace. Moreover, its scent has a soothing effect on the body and makes us fall asleep faster.
Agnieszka Gierczycka also points to two other things grandmothers often kept in vases, among others, coins. Just a few pennies are enough, they are designed to attract wealth. Cereal grains, e.g. wheat, were also poured in so that there would never be a shortage of food in the house. Why was this so important? The emptiness in the vase could translate into emptiness in life. Of course, we must remember that these are superstitions and should be treated with a pinch of salt. However, the fact is that a beautiful vase will be even more beautiful with a charming bouquet.
