State deputy Antonia Sales (MDB) represented the Legislative Assembly of Acre (Aleac) during the celebrations of the Jubilee Week “Viva Pucallpa”, in Peru. The event, which marks the Peruvian city’s anniversary, brought together political, cultural and social authorities from both countries in a program aimed at integration and strengthening international relations between Brazil and Peru.
In her fifth parliamentary term, Antonia Sales is recognized for her work in favor of regional development and rapprochement between border peoples. Currently, she holds the position of third secretary of Aleac, is vice-president of the northern region of the National Union of Legislators and State Legislatures (UNALE), secretary of Women of the Amazon Parliament and president of Aleac’s Latin American Integration and International Relations Commission.
During her participation in “Viva Pucallpa”, the deputy highlighted the importance of the union between the two countries, especially between Acre and the Ucayali region, separated by less than 200 kilometers.
“This is an integration that brings development. Without connection, there is no growth. Brazil and Peru need to continue helping each other to improve the lives of our population”, stated Antonia Sales.
The Acre parliamentarian also highlighted the role of border integration as a driver of economic, social and cultural progress. “Each bridge built, each partnership signed represents opportunities for our people. Acre and Pucallpa have a natural, historical and fraternal connection, which needs to be increasingly strengthened”, he added.
The deputy’s presence at the event reinforces the Acre Parliament’s commitment to international dialogue and policies that promote development and cooperation between Amazonian countries.
