The transnational partnership of the DIBEST project – Digital Innovation for the Blue Economy and Social Tourism met on the 7th and 8th of October, in Galicia (Spain), for the fifth working meeting, which had around 20 participants from Spain, France, Ireland and Portugal.
The main focus of the meeting was the digital training of micro-enterprises in the blue economy, evaluating the impact of training and mentoring actions already carried out and planning the final phase of the project, which runs until July 2026.

Among the upcoming initiatives, we highlight the holding of an international workshop scheduled for April 2026, in Ireland, which will bring together participating micro-enterprises from various countries to share results, good practices and identify future challenges.
In the Algarve, the project is promoted by NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region, which has recruited 15 micro-enterprises since January 2025 to participate in a free digital training program, consisting of ten sessions. At the same time, workshops, webinars, networking sessions and personalized mentoring have been promoted in areas such as storytelling, online commerce, booking platforms, financing, data processing, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

According to NERA, the objective of the program is “to improve the digital performance of the companies involved, reduce operational costs and reinforce the competitiveness of participating micro-enterprises”.
Co-financed by the Interreg Espaço Atlântico program, through the European Regional Development Fund, the DIBEST project operates in the coastal regions of Spain, France, Ireland and Portugal and seeks to boost digital innovation and economic sustainability in sectors linked to the sea and social tourism.
