Dubai hosts the largest technology and AI event in the world, with Brazilian startups

GITEX Global 2025 begins this Monday (13) and runs until Friday (17), in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, considered the largest technology event in the world. The Dubai World Trade Center will bring together 6,800 technology companies and 2,000 startups, from 180 countries.

In addition to serving as a showroom for the latest equipment and services from major global companies in the sector, the meeting will debate topics such as the redefinition of the economy and geopolitics through innovation, the potential of biotechnology to cure genetic diseases and even the transformation of urban mobility through artificial intelligence and the enabling of green data centers.

According to the organizers, the participation of global technology giants such as Alibaba Cloud, AMD, AWS, Dell, e&, G42, Google, HPE, Huawei, IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce, Siemens and Snowflake has been confirmed.

Parallel to the main event, the GITEX startup showcase, Expand North Star, is taking place from October 12th to 15th at Dubai Harbor, a space organized by the Dubai Digital Economy Chamber. Celebrating its 10th edition, the fair connects 2,000 of the world’s most promising startups with more than 1,200 investors managing assets worth US$1.1 trillion.

Brazilian startups

This year, the fair marks a record year for international participation, with Brazil joining as a partner country, having its largest technology delegation ever. In a statement, Tatiana Riera, COO of Apex Brasil, said that the export promotion agency “is excited to be at GITEX GLOBAL and Expand North Star with more than 50 incredible startups and innovation hubs. It’s a great opportunity to show how Brazil is driving innovation and creating technological solutions for global challenges.”

Among the Brazilian companies confirmed in the delegation is SleepUp, a healthtech focused on democratizing access to the treatment of sleep disorders and brain health. Created in 2019, the startup was a pioneer in Anvisa approval as medical software in 2021 and has since been consolidating itself globally.

“SleepUp is a digital therapeutic platform for sleep disorders and neurodegenerative diseases. We treat and diagnose these disorders through an app, medical software and devices such as the electroencephalogram band and oximeter. We use technology for monitoring, treatment and diagnosis, with the purpose of democratizing access to sleep health and brain health”, he explained in a note Renata Bonaldi, co-founder and CEO of SleepUp.
