Father Manoel Costa highlights the atmosphere of fraternity and hope at the 94th Círio de Nazaré in Rio Branco

The rector of Nossa Senhora de Nazaré Cathedral, Father Manoel Costa, spoke this Sunday (12) about another edition of the Círio de Nazaré, an event that brings together thousands of faithful in Rio Branco.

According to him, this year’s Círio is the result of months of preparation and a great movement of unity and faith in the capital of Acre. “The Círio started in June and has generated a feeling of fraternity, of participation from society, sectors, companies, families, institutions. Today we are crowning it with this celebration”, he highlighted.

While hundreds of devotees are already gathered at Gameleira, the place where the procession starts, Father Manoel recalled that one of the most symbolic moments of the event is the meeting of the images of Our Lady of Nazaré and Jesus Nazareno, which takes place by the waters of the Acre River.

Despite the light rain that delayed the start of the program, the religious man demonstrated confidence and enthusiasm with the expected audience.

“Soon, with the grace of the Lord, we will have 10 thousand people walking to the Cathedral for the great procession of the Círio de Nazaré 2025. Our hearts are full of hope at this moment”, he stated.

The Círio de Nazaré, which reaches its 94th edition, is considered the largest religious event in Acre and one of the most traditional in the Amazon, bringing together generations of believers in a manifestation of faith, gratitude and devotion to the patron saint.
