The vice-president of the Republic, , will participate this Monday (13), at 9 am, in the opening ceremony of the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting of the 30th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations on Climate Change (pre-COP), in . The meeting brings together 72 international delegations and aims to facilitate consensus and align positions before COP30, which will be held between November 10th and 21st, in Belém (PA).
In addition to Alckmin, ministers Fernando Haddad (Finance), Mauro Vieira (Foreign Affairs) and Marina Silva (Environment and Climate Change), among other Brazilian and foreign authorities, will also participate in the opening. The meeting is considered an important step in Brazil’s preparation to host COP30 and should address climate financing, energy transition and preservation of the Amazon.
