The attacker This Saturday (11) reached a historic milestone in world football. At 38 years old, the Uruguayan scored his 600th career goal when he scored in Inter Miami’s 4-0 victory over Atlanta United, in Major League Soccer (MLS). With this feat, the former Grêmio player became the fourth active athlete to reach the milestone — behind only Cristiano Ronaldo (946 goals), Lionel Messi (886) and Robert Lewandowski (732).
On social media, Suárez celebrated the feat: “A special night, for the very important victory and for reaching 600 goals in his career”, he wrote on X (formerly Twitter). According to data from the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS), Barcelona was the club where Suárez scored the most goals — 198 in total. For Grêmio, he scored 29 times. Even though he retired from the Uruguayan national team, the striker remains Uruguay’s top scorer in history, with 69 goals.
Among the greatest scorers in history, Suárez currently occupies 12th place. To enter the top 10, he needs to score 27 more goals and surpass Northern Irishman Joe Bambrick, who has 626.
