The Prime Minister and president of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), Luís Montenegro (CE), accompanied by the “O Porto Somos Nós” Coalition candidate for Porto City Council, Pedro Duarte (C).
All television projections give a slight advantage to the candidate from the PSD/CDS/IL coalition.
The first predictions are technical draw, but the candidate of the PSD/CDS/IL coalition for the Porto Chamber, Pedro Duarte appears slightly ahead of the socialist candidate Manuel Pizarro in all television projections released at 8:00 pm for the Porto municipality.
A projection of the Catholic University for RTP gives a small advantage to Pedro Duarte, but a tie in number of mandates: Pedro Duarte with 36% to 40%Manuel Pizarro with 33% to 37% and Miguel Corte-Real, from Chega, with 6 to 9%.
A SIC Newsin turn, shows Pedro Duarte with 34.2 to 39.4%Pizarro with 32 to 37.2% and Miguel Corte-Real with 6.8 to 10.2%.
They are followed by Filipe Araújo, independent, with 3.8 to 6.8%, the CDU, with Diana Ferreira, between 2.7 to 5.5%, Livre with Hélder Sousa, between 2.4 to 5%, Nuno Cardoso (NC/PPM) between 1.4 to 3.4% and Sérgio Aires with the Bloco de Esquerda in last: 1.1 to 3.1% for BE.
The projection of Intercampus for CM/CMTV/NOW/Jornal de Negócios also gives a small margin to Pedro Duarte with 37% to 41.0%. Pizarro comes up with 30.8% to 34.8%, with a margin of error of +/- 1.27%.
A Pythagorean/ICS/ISCTE/GfK Metris for TVI/CNN points to Pedro Duarte with between 34.2% and 39.4%. There are 5 to 7 mandates, the same as Pizarro, who appears with 32% to 37.2%. The two were separated by 2 percentage points.
Miguel Côrte-Real appears in third, between 6.8% and 10.2%.
Filipe Araújo between 3.8% and 6.8%, Diana Ferreira (CDU) between 2.7% and 5.5%, Hélder Sousa (Livre) between 2.4% and 5%, Sérgio Aires (Bloco) between 1.1% and 3.1%, Nuno Cardoso (Porto Primeiro) between 1.4% and 3.4%. In other words, the 5 still have their mandate in doubt.
The PSD/CDS/IL coalition candidate for the Porto Chamber, Pedro Duarte, says he is “very confident” for tonight and promises, if elected, to be a “free and independent” president.
“I am prepared for all scenarios”, Pedro Duarte told journalists, upon arrival at the campaign headquarters.
“If I am elected president, I will be a very free and independent president, owing nothing to anyone,” he promised.
