President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is considered the best result for Brazil today, within the elections, according to the Quaest survey released this week. For 33% of those interviewed, Lula would be the most appropriate name. In second place comes the option “someone from outside politics”, chosen by 23%.
Another 15% stated that the country would do better with “another right-wing candidate”, while 14% cited former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). 5% indicated “a center candidate”, and 4%, “another left-wing candidate”. Only 6% did not know or chose not to answer.
The survey, carried out by Quaest at the request of Genial Investimentos, interviewed 2,004 Brazilians aged 16 or over between the 2nd and 5th of October. The study has a margin of error of two percentage points, up or down.

Voters’ preference for Lula’s re-election has been growing since May 2025. During the period, the PT member had 21% of mentions, then rose to 28% in August. Now, at 33%, he has the highest percentage since the start of the series.
The group of voters who consider someone outside politics to be the best option for the country has decreased compared to the August survey, remaining at the limit of the margin of error. In the previous survey, 27% had this opinion. Now, the index has dropped to 23%.
When it comes to options, such as “another right-wing candidate”, there was growth, going from 10% in August to 15% in the current survey. The percentage that points to Jair Bolsonaro as the best electoral result fell from 19% to 14% in the same period.

The research also asked which political field best represents the discourse of patriotism and combating corruption. The results show that 44% of those interviewed believe that this representation is from the right, while 28% believe that these values are linked to the left. Another 12% said that neither side represents them, while 16% did not know or preferred not to answer.
