Sarkozy will go to jail on October 21 for Libyan financing of his 2007 campaign

The former French president Nicolas Sarkozy will enter the next day October 21 to the prison Parisian de La Santé for the 5-year prison sentence handed down against him last September in relation to the Libyan financing of his 2007 presidential campaign, judicial sources indicated this Monday to several French media.

Sarkozy, who will thus become the first former French head of state to go to prison, appeared before the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office to find out the date and place of his imprisonment.
