In a post on his Instagram account, the musician reassured fans about his health and explained that the problem was caused by poor posture over time.
The singer revealed this weekend that he had to be rushed to hospital due to a cervical disc herniation. In a post on his Instagram account, the musician reassured his fans about his health and explained that the problem was caused by poor posture over time, taking the opportunity to issue an important warning to his followers.
According to Iorc, the herniated disc is related to the excessive time he spends with his head down and his neck in an inappropriate position. “I had to be rushed to hospital due to a herniated disc in my neck, caused by poor posture over the years… because I was tall, because I played the guitar, because I spent too much time on my cell phone (our contemporary problem)… basically, because I kept my head down and my neck bent for a long time”, detailed the artist.
The singer reported that this is not the first time he has faced a similar crisis. Four years ago, he was referred for surgery, but managed to overcome the situation with less invasive treatments, such as osteopathy, physiotherapy and pilates. “Over time, I became neglectful of these precautions and fell into the trap of thinking that, because I wasn’t feeling pain, everything was fine. But these postural errors are cumulative, and eventually the bill arrives. And it arrived yesterday, without mercy”, confessed the musician.
To alleviate the intense pain and make it possible to fulfill work commitments, Tiago Iorc will undergo a procedure to block the inflammatory process with injections in the affected areas of the spine this Sunday (12). “Send good energy”, he asked his fans. At the end of his publication, the artist made an appeal to his followers: “The main message I want to leave you is: take care of your body, take care of your diet, take care of your head. Take care of your health! This daily care prevents many things!”
What is Cervical Disc Herniation?
According to Albert Einstein Hospital, cervical disc herniation occurs when the intervertebral disc – a structure that acts as a shock absorber between the vertebrae – moves from its normal position and compresses a nerve or cervical root. This compression generates inflammation and pain that usually starts in the neck and can radiate to the upper limbs.
