The President of the , , and heads of state of Egypt, Abdul Fatah Khalil Al-Sisi; Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdogan; and Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, signed this Monday (13), in the Egyptian city of Sharm el Sheikh, the agreement that stipulates the end of two years of war in the .

In front of a table and with around 30 world leaders in the background, the four leaders signed and held up the document with Trump’s plan to end the war that began on October 7, 2023.

“It was a huge hurdle. But everything went so well that no one could believe that we were here, certifying and finishing everything, and everyone was happy. I had never seen so much happiness before,” Trump said, accompanied by his counterparts from Egypt, Qatar and Turkey, and with the rest of the world leaders sitting in armchairs, acting as witnesses in the background.

The Republican stated that he has closed numerous agreements before, but that “this took off like a rocket, and did so from the beginning”, while also stating: “I have heard for years that this is the most important agreement”.

“It’s the biggest and most complex agreement, and it’s also the place that could cause tremendous problems, like World War III. World War III would start in the Middle East, and that’s not going to happen. In fact, we don’t want it to start anywhere, but it’s not going to happen. So I just wanted to thank everyone,” he said.

Shortly before signing, Trump assured that the document details “many rules and regulations, and much more, it is very complete”, while also recalling that in the past numerous agreements were signed in the Middle East related to and with the terrorist group.

“What it doesn’t say is that finally, after, I suppose, 3,000 years – I’ve heard of 3,000 to 500 years – but whatever it is, it’s a lot. But this was the one. It was the biggest of all, and frankly, I thought it would probably be the hardest, and maybe in many ways it was, but we had a lot of talent,” he added.

Trump, who spared no praise for Sisi, Thani and Erdogan, stated that the leaders who support him “are the greatest leaders, the most powerful, the richest”. “And this happened because everyone came together and wanted to resolve the situation in Gaza. They wanted to resolve the whole issue. It got to a point where it was crazy. And once they got together and we started talking, everything went well,” he assured.
