São Paulo Civil Defense issued an alert for rain showers and strong winds across the state

The Civil Defense of issued a warning for rain showers and strong winds across the state. According to meteorologist Camila Iunes, the capital of São Paulo and Greater São Paulo could record wind gusts of up to 70 km/h this Monday (13) and in the coming days, although less significantly from tomorrow onwards. The instability is caused by the arrival of a cold front that moves from the southern region of the country and reaches areas of the Southeast. In the interior of São Paulo, cities such as Araçatuba and São José do Rio Preto have already recorded heavier rainfall, with around 19 to 29 mm, and wind gusts of almost 50 km/h.

Camila Iunes described the weather as “very characteristic of spring”, with rapid alternation between rain and periods without precipitation. The expectation is that the rain will return more significantly throughout the afternoon, accompanied by strong winds and the possibility of lightning. The beginning of the week in the capital and Greater São Paulo will be marked by cloudier weather and cloudiness, with chances of rain. Temperatures are expected to drop a little due to the cold front, but without the intensity seen last week. For the end of the week, the forecast is for isolated rain and rising temperatures.

Climate instability is not restricted to the Southeast, it also affects areas of the Central-West. There is a warning of the possibility of rain in regions such as Brasília, which is facing a period of drought.
