Is Messi’s season the most productive in MLS history?
Lionel Messi’s season is still not the most productive in MLS history. With 44 goal appearances, he is behind Mexican Carlos Vela, who in 2019 had 49 goal appearances.
However, Messi still has one more MLS round to get closer to Vela, in addition to the playoffs.
Currently, Inter Miami is third in the Eastern Conference, with 62 points – a campaign of 18 wins, eight draws and seven defeats.
