US President Donald Trump may have ushered in a new period of peace in the Middle East in his unorthodox way. However, comparable attempts in Ukraine have so far fizzled out. Trump was fooled by the despot in the Kremlin and let him convince him that it was Ukraine that stood in the way of an end to the war.
