By December 31st, five of MTV’s various channels will be taken off the air: MTV Music, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, Club MTV and MTV Live. The operation begins in the United Kingdom and Ireland, extending to other European countries, such as France, Germany, Austria, Poland and Hungary, until crossing the other side of the ocean and reaching Brazil and Australia.
The decline in audiences and changes in the habits of viewers, who began to prefer social networks and streaming, may also be behind the decision to close these television channels.
