Neither the Palestinian faction nor Tel Aviv signed the text, and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu chose not to attend
VICTOR LACOMBE – The declaration signed by United States President Donald Trump and mediators Egypt, Qatar and Turkey marking the end of the war in the Gaza Strip does not mention the creation of a Palestinian state at the end of the peace process in the Middle East.
Released this Monday (13) hours after the ceremony, which took place in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, the text reaffirms the commitment of the four countries to implement the peace plan accepted by the terrorist group Hamas and Israel and the desire to resolve future conflicts through dialogue, not force.
Neither the Palestinian faction nor Tel Aviv, however, signed the text, and Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu chose not to attend the event. The president of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, was present, who is also not a signatory of the declaration.

“We, the undersigned, salute the truly historic commitment and implementation by all parties of the Trump Peace Agreement, ending more than two years of profound suffering and mourning – opening for the region a new chapter defined by hope, security and a shared vision of peace and prosperity.
We support and support President Trump’s sincere efforts to end the war in Gaza and bring lasting peace to the Middle East. Together, we will implement this agreement in a way that ensures peace, security, stability and opportunity for all people in the region, including Palestinians and Israelis.
We understand that lasting peace will be one in which both Palestinians and Israelis can prosper with their fundamental human rights protected, their security guaranteed and their dignity preserved.
We affirm that meaningful progress emerges through constant cooperation and dialogue, and that strengthening ties between nations and peoples serves the enduring interests of regional and global peace and stability.
We recognize the deep historical and spiritual significance of this region for the religious communities whose roots are intertwined with the land of the region – Christianity, Islam and Judaism among them. Respect for these sacred connections and protection of their historic heritage will remain fundamental to our commitment to peaceful coexistence.
We are united in our determination to dismantle extremism and radicalization in all its forms. No society can flourish when violence and racism are normalized, or when radical ideologies threaten civil society. We commit to addressing the conditions that give rise to extremism and to promoting education, opportunity and mutual respect as foundations for solid peace.
In this way, we commit to resolving future disputes through diplomatic engagement and negotiation, rather than force or protracted conflict. We recognize that the Middle East cannot sustain a persistent cycle of protracted war, stalled negotiations, or the fragmented, incomplete, or selective application of successfully negotiated terms. The tragedies witnessed over the past two years should serve as an urgent reminder that future generations deserve better than the failures of the past.
We seek tolerance, dignity and equal opportunity for every person, ensuring this region is a place where everyone can pursue their aspirations for peace, security and economic prosperity, regardless of race, faith or ethnicity.
We pursue a comprehensive vision of peace, security and shared prosperity in the region, founded on the principles of mutual respect and shared destiny.
In this spirit, we welcome the progress made in establishing comprehensive and resilient peace agreements in the Gaza Strip, as well as the friendly and mutually beneficial relationship between Israel and its regional neighbors.
We commit to working collectively to implement and sustain this legacy, building institutional foundations on which future generations can prosper together in peace.
We commit to a future of lasting peace.
