The president of the United States, Donald Trump, declared this Tuesday “very dissatisfied with Spain.” After pointing out that “it is the only NATO country that is not going to increase its military spending to 5%,” he has indicated that he is considering imposing tariffs on this country, a threat with which he had already flirted in June, at the Alliance summit in The Hague.

“It is possible that he will do it… Spain is the only one (that does not pay), it has to be punished for that,” stressed Trump, who considered that Spain’s attitude “is very disrespectful” towards the rest of the members of the Alliance.
