Trump assured that the vessel was part of a “terrorist organization”
The US Armed Forces carried out yet another attack on a boat that was allegedly trafficking drugs off the coast of Venezuela, killing six people on board, President Donald Trump announced this Tuesday.
Trump said the vessel was “affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO),” but did not name any organization or provide evidence to support the claim.
“Intelligence confirmed that the vessel was trafficking narcotics, was associated with illicit narco-terrorist networks and was transiting along a known DTO route,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “The attack was carried out in international waters, and six narco-terrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the attack. No US forces were injured.”
This is at least the fifth time that the US has announced an attack of this kind. The Pentagon announced another attack in early October.
Trump also published an unclassified video of the attack.
