Was Bruno Henrique punished?
Conmebol fined Flamengo and Bruno Henrique 25 thousand dollars (around R$ 136.5 thousand) due to the obscene gestures made by striker Bruno Henrique towards the Estudiantes fans, after the Brazilian team qualified in the quarter-finals of the Libertadores. The Rio club, according to UOL, will appeal the punishment.
The attacker, therefore, remains free to play for Fla in the competition. The team faces Racing-ARG in the semifinals, in duels scheduled for the 22nd and 29th of October.

What did Bruno Henrique do?
The incident occurred shortly after Flamengo’s heroic penalty shootout victory in Argentina. During the celebration on the pitch, red and black players were targets of objects thrown by the local fans. In response, Bruno Henrique became enraged, showing the middle finger and gesturing towards his private parts.
Later, the player spoke on a fan profile on “X” (formerly Twitter) to give his version of the events, claiming to have been provoked.
– I’m always the bad guy in the story, right? Incredible. They only show my part, but the part of us players being hit by objects, cans and other things they didn’t show. In fact, I only had this reaction because I had received a lighter in the face – said Bruno Henrique, in comments on social media.
