In the area of ​​the village of Stubenberg am See in the Austrian state of Styria, the police arrested a 45-year-old Slovak on Monday evening. who is a suspect in a series of hotel break-ins across Austria. The Kleine Zeitung website reported on this on Wednesday. During the searches, officers seized suspected loot, burglary tools, firearms, an airsoft gun and drugs.

The suspect admitted to breaking into at least 30 hotel rooms and office spaces in hotels across Austria between January and October 2025. He is believed to have stolen mainly cash and jewellery.

According to the findings so far, the Slovak committed this criminal activity partly with the help of a 35-year-old accomplice, who is currently in custody in Slovakia for other property crimes. On the order of the prosecutor’s office in Graz, the Slovak was taken to a prison in the Jakomini district.
