The group of lawyers Prerogativas, aligned with President Lula, released a video made using Artificial Intelligence with personalities such as journalist Vladimir Herzog, former president João Goulart and former deputy Rubens Paiva taking a stand against amnesty.
The video, made by marketer Otávio Antunes, from PT, is part of a campaign against pardoning those convicted of attempted coups and reducing sentences for Bolsonarists. There will be other pieces.
“I fought for a free country, but they hunted me like an animal and are coming to kill me,” says Zumbi.
In the video, former president João Goulart recalls that he was elected by the people, but suffered from the actions of the military. “The generals didn’t want to lose privileges, so they gave me a coup and expelled me from my own country,” he says.
“The campaign should circulate on the networks to denounce the danger of a light amnesty, which is the reduction of sentences”, says Marco Aurélio de Carvalho, coordinator of Prerrogativas.
With the phrase “No amnesty” at the bottom of the screen, the video says that in the past episodes of violence ended with forgiveness for the aggressors, encouraging new cases.
“So many times, persecution, exile, torture, death and disappearances. But never once were the guilty parties punished. In each coup, impunity guaranteed the next attempt. But this time, no. This time, Brazil will see justice.”
