The president of the PP, senator (PI), and the deputy (PL-SP) resolved themselves after arguing through posts on X, formerly Twitter. The senator confirmed to Estadão that the two spoke by phone this Monday (13). “Everything is resolved and overcome. It was very clear that our paths are different, but our objective is the same, which is to win the election”, he told the newspaper O Globo.
The disagreement began on Sunday (12). after Ciro told Canal Livre, from Band, that Eduardo’s stance caused us “gigantic damage” to the right in Brazil. “I don’t know what I would do if my father was wronged, but it was a huge loss to our political project. We had a completely resolved election,” he said about the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
The assessment concerns Eduardo’s calls for US sanctions against Brazilian authorities and ministers of the Federal Supreme Court (). According to the senator, the strategy ended up favoring the president (PT), who invested in a speech defending national sovereignty. Eduardo reacted and said that the damage was huge for the senator’s “personal plan”. “Your interest cannot be confused with that of Brazil”, he wrote.
Ciro even published a rejoinder, in a conciliatory tone: “You know the distance between what they say about us and reality. I never wanted to be anything other than what I am. With another way of seeing, what interests me is also Brazil.” The president of the PP has called for unity between the right and the center, at the risk of losing the 2026 election, and pointed out a “lack of common sense on the right”.
In recent months, behind the scenes, the dispute to decide who will inherit the former president’s political estate has intensified, with friction between Eduardo Bolsonaro and the governor of (Republicans), for example.
