The governor of São Paulo, (Republicans), stated this Tuesday (14) that the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, is “taking my name in vain”.

The speech took place during an event to hand over affordable housing in São Paulo, after a public argument between the two last week. At the time, after the overthrow of the IOF MP, the PT member said that the governor “acted to the detriment of national interests to protect Faria Lima”. In response, Tarcísio published a video on his social networks in which he appears saying: “Be ashamed, Haddad”.

This Tuesday (14), when responding about his actions behind the scenes so that the Provisional Measure was not approved, Tarcísio again denied it, although parliamentarians and party leaders said otherwise, as shown by GLOBO.

– [Haddad] You keep taking my name in vain. I think there is a bigger concern for him, which is the tax issue. Everyone is worried about the tax issue. Everyone is worried about Brazil’s fiscal direction. I think the production sector is worried, and so are we. Because we don’t want to be upset up front. Up front, we don’t want to see Brazil flirting with over-indebtedness, high inflation and, eventually, recession. We want the best for Brazil, we will not hope for Brazil to go wrong – said Tarcísio.

The governor of São Paulo also spoke about federal revenue.

– We know that the tax issue is a very important topic. We cannot be negligent with tax issues. This is our support, so that the correct fiscal course, the direction of responsibility. In October, we reached 3 trillion reais raised. We are at the peak of revenue, we are reaching 19.5% of revenue and running a primary deficit. This is the projection. Not to mention the nominal deficit, which has increased our debt-GDP ratio. So, this is dangerous for Brazil, it is dangerous for the country. Adjustments are necessary and we hope that these adjustments are made.
