Fluminense will promote, between December 19th and 21st, the 2SV College Showcase, in partnership with 2SV Sports & Education.
The event, at CT Vale das Laranjeiras, in Xerém, will bring together coaches from universities in the United States in search of young football talents. Athletes aged 15 to 22 can participate.
The project is the result of the relationship created between the club and 2SV during the 2025 Club World Cup, when they trained at the University of South Carolina.
The CEO of 2SV, Ricardo Silveira, acted at the time as a representative of FIFA, bringing the two institutions closer together.
In September, Silveira visited the Laranjeiras and Xerém facilities and met with president Mário Bittencourt, base deputy Rui Reisinger and director Antônio Garcia. The meeting consolidated the partnership aimed at training and exchanging athletes.
The event in Xerém will have accommodation, food and academics with individualized feedback. The will be broadcast online.
The Showcase selections began in September in São Paulo. Registration costs R$200.
The 2024 edition, in São Paulo, registered 80% of athletes with interest from universities and 37 full scholarships offered.
Forming citizens
“Our objective is to take advantage of this project for athletes from Xerém and other sports. It is work linked to education. We have the motto that Xerém not only trains athletes, but citizens, men and women”, stated Mário Bittencourt.
Ricardo Silveira highlighted the potential of the partnership.
“The Showcase is a unique event. As soon as it ends, there may already be a ‘match’ that will take a young person to the United States”, he said. “In big clubs, the funnel is tight. This is an alternative for those who want to study and continue dreaming about football.”
