The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), was booed this Wednesday (15) when speaking during an event celebrating Teachers’ Day in Rio de Janeiro. The ceremony is attended by President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT), State ministers and other authorities.
As he began his speech, the audience began to shout “no amnesty” — in reference to and aims to provide amnesty to those convicted of undemocratic acts. Lula then went to Hugo and remained by his side until the end of the speech.
The deputy spoke for around five minutes, focusing on the issue of parliamentary work.
“Our coming here today is to reinforce our commitment that in the Chamber of Deputies we will continue to build together an agenda in favor of quality public education, the appreciation of teachers”, he stated.
Lula traveled to Rio de Janeiro today to announce investments from the Mais Professores program. THE The ceremony also marks the beginning of the issuance of the CNDB (Brazilian National Teaching Card) — a document that will guarantee benefits such as half price for events and other discounts for teachers across the country.
According to information from the federal government, the system for requesting the CNDB will be opened from this Thursday (16), through the Mais Professores page, with access via the gov.br account.
