The match between Palmeiras and LDU, for the Libertadores, may have a change of stage. The first leg of the competition’s semifinals is scheduled for next Thursday (10/23), at 9:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Rodrigo Paz Delgado Stadium, in Quito, Ecuador.
According to the portal ” Nosso Palestra “, Conmebol monitors waves of violence in Ecuador. In recent days, the country has recorded two armed attacks that culminated in the deaths of 14 people and 17 injuries, according to police and local media. Some victims showed signs of torture, in yet another episode that reflects the security crisis affecting the South American country.
Authorities believe the attacks are linked to drug trafficking and disputes between criminal organizations. The Ecuadorian Observatory of Organized Crime recorded more than 4,600 homicides in the first half of 2025 alone – a 47% increase compared to the same period last year.
The CBF awaits feedback from the South American confederation by Friday (10/17) regarding whether or not the match will be held in the country.
President Leila Pereira arrived this Tuesday (14/10) in Asunción, Paraguay, for a meeting between the semi-finalist clubs at the Conmebol headquarters.
Palmeiras is seeking to qualify for the Libertadores final, which will be held on November 29th, initially scheduled for Lima, Peru. There is a possibility that the match will be moved to another location and Asunción, in Paraguay, is among the favorites to host the match.
