The minister (Labor) committed to coordinating with the president (PT) and grassroots leaders in Congress the approval of the project, which is one of the government’s focuses after those earning up to R$5,000 per month.
The statements were made during a meeting with the president of the Labor Commission, Léo Prates (PDT-BA), and federal deputy Daiana Santos (PCdoB-RS) this Tuesday (14). The parliamentarians’ objective was to obtain government support for the deputy’s project that establishes the reduction of working hours to 40 hours per week and the implementation of the 5×2 scale.
At the meeting, Marinho highlighted the relevance of the project and stated that he would try to help with coordination so that the proposal can be voted on as quickly as possible. The project is in the Working Committee and its rapporteur is Prates, who has committed to organizing a public hearing with businesspeople and trade unions later this month.
“The project was born from dialogue with workers who face the wear and tear of the 6×1 scale on a daily basis. It is a viable alternative to put an end to this abuse”, states the parliamentarian. “The federal government recognized this, and together we will turn this achievement into reality, guaranteeing health and dignity for the population.”
As the Panel showed, the end of the 6×1 scale became one of the government’s priorities after the approval of the IR. In addition to Daiana Santos’ project, there is also a PEC (proposed amendment to the Constitution) by the congresswoman (-SP) that proposes a measure adopted in some countries around the world and by some companies.
