The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Hugo Motta (Republicanos-PB), heard boos and shouts of “no amnesty” during an event with teachers in Rio de Janeiro. He participates in a ceremony to launch the Brazilian National Teaching Card (CNDB) together with Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and the Minister of Education, Camilo Santana.
Mota was booed as soon as his participation was announced at the ceremony. When it was his turn to speak, Camilo Santana remembered some agendas approved by Congress to give him the floor.
Still, part of the audience of teachers booed the congressman. President Lula then got up and went to Mota’s side. At that moment, the boos turned into shouts of “no amnesty”. The two laughed and hugged each other.
