The first step to scaring away pigeons is to introduce elements that will disturb their sense of comfort on our balcony. It is worth using for this purpose simple visual and sound deterrents. They are neither expensive nor complicated.
Various types of objects will work in this role, reflecting light or making sound when it’s windy. These may be, for example, old CDs whose surface produces light reflections. You can also use aluminum cans or small bells that make noise when the wind blows. Some people also decide to place colorful pinwheels on the balcony.
However, it is important to change the arrangement or type of repellers used from time to time. This is because the birds will get used to it quite quickly and after some time they will start to ignore sounds or light. For this reason it is worth using several different methods to increase the chance of success.
