The train transport on the track near Jablonov nad Turňou in the district of Rožňava was restored on one track. This is informed by the Railway Company Slovakia on the social network.
“The trains are going through a reduced speed of ten kilometers per hour,” stated the train carrier. The Ministry of Transport announced that the transport on the railway line between Jablonov nad Turňa and Lipovník in the Rožňava district are likely to be renewed on Tuesday before midnight. The Railways of the Slovak Republic finished on Tuesday evening with line repairs and the remains of damaged trains were already taken from the place.
The trains stopped operating this section for Monday (October 13) by the collision of R 913 and R 914 Gemeran near Jablonov nad Turňou. There were approximately 100 people on trains. Most of them were injured. After the accident, they registered seven people in a critical condition, 14 medium injured and 48 easily injured.
The police for the accident have initiated criminal prosecution for the crime of general threat. The investigation of the accident is also led by the Railway Company Slovakia in cooperation with the Railways of the Slovak Republic. In parallel, there is also an investigation into the Ministry of Transport of the Slovak Republic, which analyzes circumstances and proposes measures to increase security.
