Riga – England’s national team became the first European team to qualify for the 2026 World Cup in North America on Tuesday. The Three Lions retained the upper hand 5-0 in Latvia, remained without a point or conceded a goal in the sixth Group K game and can no longer be pushed out of first place. Portugal came close to making it in Pool F, conceding a 2-2 draw in injury time against Hungary after two goals from Cristiano Ronaldo in Lisbon.
