For the sixth time in its history — the third in a row —, Corinthians will compete in the Women’s Copa Libertadores final. This Wednesday (15), the black and white team eliminated Ferroviária in a penalty shootout and advanced to the final of the tournament, held in Argentina.

In normal time, there was a 1-1 draw. Mariza opened the scoring for the Corinthians team in the initial stage, and Andressa equalized after the break. On penalties, Corinthians won 6-5.

Since the creation of the tournament in 2009, Brazil is the only country present in all the finals and has 13 titles — five of them from Corinthians (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023 and 2024), the biggest winner of the competition.

In addition to Brazilian teams, only Colo-Colo (CHI), Sportivo Limpeño (PAR) and Atlético Huila (COL) also won the title.

In this edition, Colombian football will have the chance to seek its second trophy, with Deportivo Cali, who eliminated Colo-Colo in the other semi-final. After a goalless draw in normal time, the dispute went to penalties, with the Colombian team winning 5-4.

The decision will be played next Saturday (18), at 8pm (Brasília time), at the Florencio Sola stadium.

Earlier, at 4pm, Ferroviária and Colo-Colo define third place.
