“Serial killer from feijoada” confessed to killing dogs with pellets

Ana Paula Veloso Fernandes, accused of killing four people in São Paulo, confessed in a statement that she also killed around 13 dogs with pellets.

The police identify her as a “serial killer”.

In her statement, she justified having killed the animals because her brother had the financial means to raise the dogs. Regarding the poison used, Ana Paula said she used pellets, as she already had the poison at home.

According to Civil Police Chief Halisson Ideiao, the person being investigated had technical knowledge about the use of the product, controlling the time and dosage so that the deaths appeared natural.

The suspect in the murders confessed to killing Marcelo Day Fonseca after a fight and alleged threats from him. Another death confirmed by Ana Paula was that of Neli Correa da Silva. She had been paid to carry out the murder and was hired by Neli’s daughter, Michelle Paiva da Silva. The suspect went to Rio de Janeiro to carry out the crime and poisoned Neli’s food.

The crime that gave notoriety to the case was the murder of Neil Corrêa da Silvaover 60 years old, which took place on April 26, 2025, in Duque de Caxias, RJ. Neil was killed after ingesting a poisoned feijoada.

The police investigation showed that Michele Paiva da Silva, Neil’s daughter, financed the trip from Ana Paula de Guarulhos to Rio de Janeiro with the aim of executing her father. Ana Paula confessed to having used the food to administer the poison, mentioning that the victim ate only “two spoons” of the dish.

Indictment for four homicides

O TJSP (São Paulo Court of Justice)through the Guarulhos Jury Court, received the full complaint against Ana Paula, accusing her of four triple homicides.

The Guarulhos Court had, at first, only accepted reports of homicides committed in the city. However, in a decision reviewed by the judge, the district decided to accept the complaint for the four deaths in the same process.

The São Paulo court received the full complaint, for triple homicide in relation to Marcelo, Maria Aparecida and Hayder, and for qualified homicide with reason to increase the sentence in relation to Neil.
