TCU accepts Union appeal and suspends decision on fiscal target

O TCU (Federal Audit Court) decided this Wednesday (15) to suspend part of the Court of Auditors’ ruling to adopt the center from goal primary result as a parameter for the federal government’s financial transactions.

Minister Benjamin Zymler considered “practical impossibility” for the new budget contingency for this year as requested by the Court.

The AGU (Attorney General of the Union) presented the embargoes and states that the decision to target the center of the fiscal target could result in “a serious risk to the execution of public policies under the responsibility of the Union.

With the measure, the federal government will be able to continue using the lower limit of the fiscal target as a reference for the next bimonthly budget execution reports. Before the excerpts of Judgment 2208/2025 were overturned, the Union should pursue the center of the goal.
