Thursday, September 24 in Bratislava, he lived through music. Famous faces and the media met at the christening of Banket’s new album called SLOVENSKÁ STRELA. Singer Richard Müller dusted off the legendary Banquet after 40 years and started musical nostalgia.
The recording of a new musical effort by the Banket group came 40 years after the cult album Bioelektrovízia. Banket was extremely progressive in his time, so he is considered a pioneer of synthesizer and electronic popular music in Slovakia. The singer continues the trend of innovation. They made the music for the new songs as a duo with the keyboard player Remigius Remo Klačanský, all the lyrics are written by Müller.
Singer Tina, who has a duet with Müller, did not miss the baptism. What is her first memory of the singer and the group Banket?
“It’s interesting that when you want to remember your childhood, it goes back some time and you don’t know anything about what happened before that. And that’s how it is with Richard Müller, that I have the feeling that he still was. As I was, so was Richard Müller. It’s like the Pope, he just still is.” Tina said with humor.
In her opinion, what makes Richard Müller so special that his music keeps people engaged for decades? “Authenticity. I think that nowadays you can feel so much if someone is authentic, and if they are not authentic, that actually in the horizon of some time it will start to separate a lot and what is authentic will survive. Because everything that is artificial will already be replaced by artificial intelligence.” said the singer.
