Washington – The world football association Fifa has reacted cautiously to statements by US President Donald Trump that games at next year’s World Cup could be moved from cities governed by Democrats. According to media reports, FIFA said it was hoped that each of the 16 host cities would be prepared to “successfully host the World Cup and meet all the necessary requirements.” It was emphasized that safety was the “top priority”.
