We associate minced cutlets with a typical, everyday dinner. However, in this version they become not only unique, but also easier to prepare than traditional ones. A surprise in the form of a filling will make them more exquisite.
All Saints’ Day is just one day when we visit the graves of the dead and meet family. A visit to the cemetery, taking into account traffic jams, sometimes takes several hours. So there is not much time to stand at the pan. Cold guests expect a quick meal when they return. Therefore, on All Saints’ Day, it is worth choosing a quick dinner. Baked minced cutlets with a surprise perfectly meet this criterion.
Frying meatballs or cutlets requires standing over the pan for a long time. Frying is often done in batches because our kitchens are not designed to prepare food for many people. A person who works nervously in the kitchen for half the day on All Saints Day has no strength or time to talk to loved ones, and that’s what these meetings are all about. Oven-baked minced cutlets have another advantage – they are healthier than those fried in a pan.because they absorb less fat. Seniors and guests who care about their figure will certainly be happy about it.
The recipe for baked minced cutlets with a surprise requires the filling to be prepared in advance. You can make it before leaving for the cemetery, which will significantly speed up the preparation of the cutlets when you return.
Ingredients:
Mięsna time:
- 700 g of minced meat;
- onion;
- egg;
- 3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs;
- salt and pepper, optionally marjoram.
Filling for the cutlets:
- 3 eggs;
- 150 yellow cheese;
- 100 ml of cream 12%;
- 2 tablespoons of mayonnaise;
- a spoon of mustard;
- salt and pepper.
Preparation method:
Prepare the filling: hard-boil the eggs, cool, peel and chop. Grate the yellow cheese on a coarse grater. Place the ingredients in a bowl. Add cream, mayonnaise, mustard and spices. Mix everything and leave to chew the ingredients.
Place the minced meat in a bowl. Beat one egg, add breadcrumbs. Season with salt and pepper. Peel the brown onion, cut it into small cubes and add it to the bowl with the meat. Knead the ingredients with your hands for about 7 minutes so that the cutlets do not crack during baking.
Line the oven tray with baking paper. Form the meat into equal-sized cutlets and place them on a baking tray with equal access. Using a glass, crush the cutlets, making a slight indentation in them. Place the stuffing with a spoon into this cavity.
Set the oven to 180 degrees (heat up and down). Bake the minced meat for about 45-50 minutes.
In my family, mashed potatoes are the best for Christmas dinners. Its delicate texture combines perfectly with the creamy stuffing of baked minced cutlets. However, if many people came for dinner and you don’t have time to peel potatoes, choose bulgur. I always serve several versions of vegetables: senior carrots and peas, sauerkraut salad and pickled cucumbers. Sour additions will balance the fatness of the cheese, and it’s finally an opportunity to show off your homemade seasonings. If you don’t like pickles, you can prepare a salad with arugula and tomatoes, classic cucumber salad or fried beetroots will also work.
Baked vegetables or vegetable fries also go well with baked minced cutlets. This is an option for those who can prepare different dishes on two levels in one oven. Carrots, sweet potatoes, baked potatoes and peppers with a bit of olive oil and herbs will surely please everyone. If you choose baked vegetables, be sure to serve them with a yogurt dip.
