“We want another woman in the STF. Today, we only have minister Cármen Lúcia there. In 134 years of history, the STF has had 172 ministers and only 3 women. This has to change. It’s difficult to understand that the Court that dictates the country’s direction still doesn’t have the face of Brazil. Will the country miss another chance to change this score?”declared the presenter.

“I know the chances are small, but I want to leave my request here. President Lula, choose a woman. It would be very cool. A woman who can do everything in a very experienced way, a serious woman, up to the job too. And to take an even bigger step, let it be a black woman. It’s not kindness. It’s justice”said Angelica.

Gabriela Prioli, presenter and lawyer, a video asking for support for the petition for the nomination of a woman. The video has more than 2.6 million views.

“If the Supreme Court is responsible for judging issues that disproportionately affect women — such as gender-based violence or reproductive autonomy — what can we expect from the Brazilian judiciary if not the naturalization of masculine views on issues that are ours?”he pointed out.

For Prioli, the absence of women in “spaces of intellectuality, power and decision-making naturalize the presumption that we have nothing to say”.
