Piegusek is a unique cake that… will appeal to all chocolate lovers. The chocolate chips in the cake gently melt, creating characteristic freckles. The whole thing is amazing moist, delicate and fluffy. If you want, you can also diversify them with pieces of cookies, candied fruit or nuts. The cake is perfect for everyday coffee or tea, and tastes best with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Ingredients:

  • 400 g sugar,
  • 260 g of wheat flour,
  • 200 g of milk,
  • 100 g of chocolate sprinkles, chocolate shavings or grated chocolate,
  • 50 g coconut flakes,
  • 4 eggs,
  • 5 tablespoons of butter,
  • a spoon of baking powder.

Additionally:

  • chocolate sprinkles for serving,
  • chocolate drops for serving.

How to do it:

Separate the whites from the yolks.

In the bowl of a mixer, combine the yolks, butter and sugar. Beat until all ingredients are combined and form a light, creamy consistency.

Add wheat flour and mix, slowly adding milk, thinning the consistency of the dough.

Pour coconut flakes and chocolate sprinkles or chocolate chips and baking powder into the dough. Mix everything.

Beat the egg whites until stiff and light.

Pour the dough into a 22 cm diameter cake tin lined with baking paper. Put the whole thing in the oven preheated to 180 degrees Celsius and bake for 40 minutes.

Remove the pieguski and leave to cool completely before cutting so that the chocolate inside can completely harden.

Store the baked goods in the refrigerator, covered with foil, for a maximum of 4 days.
